What is Photography?

1) What question does Erik pose to the audience?
Are his pieces photography?

2) What was Erik’s first real passion?
Drawing was Erik’s first passion.

3) What conception of photography did Erik previously hold?
The conception of photography Erik previously held was that the photography process ends when you press the trigger to take the photo.

4) How did this inspire him?
He wanted to put a twist on what everyone else was doing because anyone can click a shutter on a camera.

5) What “common goal” do Erik’s photos have?  
The common goal Erik’s photos have is to retain the level of realism.

6) Define realism as used in this context.  
He means photo realism, which he defines as making it look like it could be captured.

7) What principles does he adhere to when creating an image?  
Perspective, impossible to distinguish with seamless composition, and light.

8) Why is it easier to create a place rather than to find a place?  
You have the option to take pieces and put them together and you are not limited creatively. 

9) How does he plan the photos?  
He knows that he can combine different realities and has no need to compromise ideas so he sketches his idea, takes photos, and combines them together.

10) What is his conclusion?
His conclusion is that the only thing that limits us is our imagination.
