minimalism

analysis of three minimal images
this image shows minimalism because it has a simple composition but is still visually very interesting.  you can tell that it is taken at a beach because of the bottom third of the image, but the top two thirds of the image do not show details of the beach. this is a good example of minimalism because it is easy on the eyes. they implemented the rule of thirds, and there are not too many distractions in the picture. your eyes are drawn to the two people walking, then the brain will figure out that this is an image of people on a quiet beach.
this image shows minimalism especially well because there is a great contrast of colors. the light is green, and the wall is red. these are complementary colors. these complementary colors look good together, and i think they look even better against the bright white of the door. the white door has contrast in itself because the window is a pitch black, and pops against the white and the rest of the image. while the colors are vibrant, the actual composition is basic because it is a piture of a wall with a door. the rule of thirds is implemented and the image shows minimalism by being simple, but not boring.
this image shows minimalism because while it seems to have a lot going on at once, the angle makes the chairs at this stadium look like a cohesive, repetitive pattern. the image is balanced very well because the darks of the chairs make the man in white stand out. the rule of thirds is used in this image as well, because the man in placed on a guideline. this mage is also visually appealing to me because it took me a moment to realize the blue in the photo are rows of chairs. the image could also tell a story, and when minimalistic images tell a story, that makes them far more interesting.
